| First topic message reminder :http://www.fairagenda.org/unhealthy_body_imagehttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2660110/Father-wants-Myer-stop-selling-super-skinny-Winx-dolls.html#readerCommentsCommand-message-fieldCheck out those links and look what this guy has to say, it's ridiculous Here is what I have to say Does anyone realize the dolls are simply based off of the show's characters and art style? The art style of the Winx Club cartoon makes the characters skinny and thin. It's just an art style, it's not an accurate representation of how your daughter should look. If your daughter likes the dolls and you're worried about how she will be effected by the thin body, can't you explain to her that normal girls don't look like that? That she's based off a cartoon? Not real life! Maybe we should start a petition AGAINST this dude, he's cray. They shouldn't take Winx dolls off the shelves just because some overprotective parent was concerned his FOUR YEAR OLD daughter was going to become anorexic. No one even said he had to buy it. if it concerns him THAT much, then don't buy the doll and don't watch Winx club. Gosh, people make me so mad sometimes. It makes me type really fast and good xD But back to the topic, get a grip man. It's like MyLittlePony. Girls aren't going to make themselves look like ponies (unless it's Halloween) now are they? I don't see "ponies" roaming the streets and neither do you. | |

| This guy also said that the dolls were promoting skinny bodies. Uh no. They are promoting the number one girls show in europe!
I bet if he sees the show he is going to start a petition to stop the show.
'By presenting such body images to kids, it’s sending a dangerous message.'
“The image on the side of the box portrayed the doll in a seductive pose – as if she was pole dancing
“There is a rising tide of consumers getting organised. Any business still stocking Winx Dolls would smart to take them off the shelves,”
The guy doesn't understand that most winxies when they buy a winx doll pay little attention to her body weight. They are more focused with collecting, playing and admiring her clothes.

- I know he needs to get a LIFE. I still have Winx dolls today. But I'm not pressured to be skinny by them, I look up to Winx because they changed my life. I came here and met all of you guys because of Winx. They inspire me in these ways:
-Bloom teaches me to
-Stella inspired me to want to be a fashion designer
-Flora taught me to be brave
-Aisha taught me to be strong
-Tecna taught me to be more open sometimes
-Musa inspired me to sing more
-Roxy taught me to believe in myself
Get a grip. I grew up with a Barbie and never dieted, took out some ribs or bleached my hair. It is a plaything. What will your kid play with ???? You will find offense with every toy
I died with: "Bloom teached me to... Stella inspired me-" Or did you forget it? :X Anyways, I agree. The Winx are just dolls and I don't think someone is going to buy them to want to look like them. They're dolls, and the show is about friendship, and not about bodies.

| This guy is crazy, poll dancer really? I don't understand why he makes such a big deal about something so little. You're right rashid21, if he saw the seasons, he would make a petition to stop Winx Club but he won't be able because they are more Winx fans than he and his dumb 1.315 signatures and of course we would have win.

| Haters gonna hate, but he doesn't have to bring everyone else down just because of this. Doesn't this guy realize not everyone has the same opinion? Get a grip, if he doesn't want his daughter to be exposed to these dolls, here's a wild idea. Get this- don't buy them I agree, if he saw the show he'd probably make a petition against that as well. Ugh. This is annoying. Well I don't shop at Myer anyway. But Jakks pacific isn't going to stop selling these dolls just because of some irrational parents. He's going to need more than a measley 1000 votes. It's not his decision to ban these dolls. It's his decision to BUY these dolls. | |

| i feel like i want to send him some pictures of me in my cosplay, about being not influenced by it. I mean I'm HUGE and yet I'm dressing up like the winx... I think it is even better to cosplay them BECAUSE of those unnatural skinny and anatomical incorrect bodyshapes, because not even an anorexic or model could pull of a winx. It makes it so that your body shape doesn't even matter because they are impossible anyway... you guys get my drift?
I think it's even better that he draws the winx so anatomically incorrect, because that goes to show that he is pressing on the issue of it being 'not real' and fantasy. Sorry if your daughter cannot understand that (which I think is not possible, she knows how humans look, so it is obvious cartoon characters are more colourfull, more moving unnatural, and more) it goes to show there is a difference between reality and cartoon. if he would have made the winx lookl ike real humans who are skinny, now THAT'S wrong, but now, I don't think winx do any harm to the self image of little girls, since it is 1) cartoonworld and 2)they are fairies, they are a different species on their own
