After reading this article, I've finally known that Winx Club now has a high probability of having more seasons, another movie, and a LIVE ACTION FILM.

YES! A LIVE ACTION FILM! THE TYPE OF FILM WE HAVE BEEN ASKING OURSELVES ALL THESE TIMES!

of course, there wouldn't be bigger people in the movie, however. the winx style is very skinny, so why would you think they would have "fat, chubby human winx"? are you saying all body sizes are gross? because that's what it sounds like. and it doesn't make sense.

and so what if they had bigger women? there's nothing wrong with that. every body shape is beautiful and for you to say that chubbier women are a bad thing is BULLYING. and it's WRONG. i don't ever want to hear any kind of shaming in the forums like this. it's just... no. don't.

That's more than a little harsh and rude. All the actresses I've seen for the live action shows including Winx Power Show, Winx on Ice and the Dutch Winx stage show have been healthy, athletic and skinny. You aren't going to find a grown woman with a Winx Club body type unless she's in a rehab or psyche ward recovering from anorexia.

As a mom with two girls, I think using realistic body portrayals would be a lot better than this really strange body type the artists chose for Winx Club.

You are getting on someone's case for saying something that is offensive towards fat people yet you insult skinny people yourself!? Hypocritical much... Saying skinny people are anorexic is really rude, just as offensive as saying mean things about fat people.

I have a really fast metabolism that stops me from gaining any weight so I'm not much bigger than the winx myself. The only 'weird' part of the winx's bodies is the very small waist proportion which is unrealistic. The rest is fine.

And yes the live action people will appear to be 'fat' because they are trying to be characters that are very skinny. You need skinny actors to pull it off.

Of course you need skinny people, but most people aren't that skinny and the ones that are often aren't that healthy. Your waist should NOT go in like the Winx' does. She didn't say skinny people have anorexia; she said that they'd need to have it to have a waist like the Winx, which provides children with more negative body images.
She's actually incorrect there; many anorexics have a normal weight or are even fat; many of them aren't even underweight. Also, saying something rude about a skinny person doesn't carry as many negative connotations as it does for fat people, since fat people are constantly shamed for just existing; skinny people are not, the media treats being underweight like it's a cure for all your problems and as such we have several negative stereotypes and presentations for many people, especially women.

Sure, you may be skinny, but it's almost, if not completely impossible to have a waist like the Winx. Even if the actors were fat, that isn't bad. There's nothing wrong with fat people and there's a lot of people implying that there is even if it's not said outright.
EDIT: Also, the Winx are all tall, are incredibly thin all over as well and have really long legs. This gives the impression that you should look like that and if not there's something wrong; there's very few characters that look noticeably different and things like this are still hurtful and affect the way children see things and act. Fat children grow up thinking their awful and deserve to be shamed when they really don't and other people think that it's okay to be mean to fat people.

The emboldened part is VERY untrue. You'll never experience the things people say to you for being skinny until you are yourself. I have recieve A LOT more nasty comments throughout my life for being skinny than nice ones! It's WORSE when you're tall, have long legs and are thin as it's more out of the norm unless you're a runway model. It's boys who say nasty comments too, not so much girls.

And I clearly stated that the winx's waists are unrealistic. Only corsets could possible get you there.

Young girls don't look at cartoons for how they should look like. They focus more on what they do. Girls focus on what actual real people (like models) look like and that's what makes bigger girls feel worthless. You can't really compare yourself to a drawing or piece of plastic.
