| First topic message reminder :After reading this article, I've finally known that Winx Club now has a high probability of having more seasons, another movie, and a LIVE ACTION FILM. YES! A LIVE ACTION FILM! THE TYPE OF FILM WE HAVE BEEN ASKING OURSELVES ALL THESE TIMES! - Quote :
- "Straffi is conceiving a new film project with Winx fairies interpreted by real actors. "It will be done sooner or later," Straffi said."
Read all about it in this article! http://www.gazzettadelsud.it/news/english/55114/Winx-still-going-strong-on-10th-anniversary.html |

| Where are we getting the information that there really will be a live action movie? I can't find substantial evidence anywhere. | |

| credit to unadinoi for the news!
in an interview, iginio straffi named 3 actresses that would make a good bloom, flora and stella
"For the young actresses it’s a tough call; there aren’t many either in Italy or abroad that could resemble our Winx. Jennifer Lawrence could be a beautiful Bloom, or Vanessa Hudgens as Flora, or Amanda Seyfried in the role of Stella."
THIS ISNT OFFICIAL! its only 3 actresses iginio straffi is thinking about for bloom, stella and flora.

THIS ISNT OFFICIAL! its only 3 actresses iginio straffi is thinking about for bloom, stella and flora. Oh I think it's just a rumour. The show isn't doing that well, to have such a budget. I mean come on, J. Lawrence is oscar winning actress, so not only she works for very good money, but presumably is also picky about script, since it would really do her bad to take on something weak. And we all know winx doesn't have the most spectacular plot... Plus I wonder how super skinny character would go with her opinion on not promoting dieting among minors...
Same goes for Vanessa Hudgens. Well not exactly same, but from what I remember she's more into more action/blood productions rather than pink out fairy...
Honestly speaking I don't see it as a good idea for live actors concept, an awful loads of money would need to go for all the green screening and post-production in first place to make it visually bearable and the cast would really need to be cast (probably of unknown people since most of the budged would already be in post-production) since they'd need to fit fan expectations and attract new people (as movie is well too big as just fan treat for finishing the title).

| I don't think a winx live action film is the best idea to be honest. :| - Domino_kitty wrote:

That's more than a little harsh and rude. All the actresses I've seen for the live action shows including Winx Power Show, Winx on Ice and the Dutch Winx stage show have been healthy, athletic and skinny. You aren't going to find a grown woman with a Winx Club body type unless she's in a rehab or psyche ward recovering from anorexia.
As a mom with two girls, I think using realistic body portrayals would be a lot better than this really strange body type the artists chose for Winx Club. - Domino_kitty wrote:

Thank you. I am a curvier person and I teach my daughters not to make fun of people for how they look. It's not funny, it's mean and a form of bullying. You are getting on someone's case for saying something that is offensive towards fat people yet you insult skinny people yourself!? Hypocritical much... Saying skinny people are anorexic is really rude, just as offensive as saying mean things about fat people. I have a really fast metabolism that stops me from gaining any weight so I'm not much bigger than the winx myself. The only 'weird' part of the winx's bodies is the very small waist proportion which is unrealistic. The rest is fine. And yes the live action people will appear to be 'fat' because they are trying to be characters that are very skinny. You need skinny actors to pull it off.

And yes the live action people will appear to be 'fat' because they are trying to be characters that are very skinny. You need skinny actors to pull it off. Of course you need skinny people, but most people aren't that skinny and the ones that are often aren't that healthy. Your waist should NOT go in like the Winx' does. She didn't say skinny people have anorexia; she said that they'd need to have it to have a waist like the Winx, which provides children with more negative body images. She's actually incorrect there; many anorexics have a normal weight or are even fat; many of them aren't even underweight. Also, saying something rude about a skinny person doesn't carry as many negative connotations as it does for fat people, since fat people are constantly shamed for just existing; skinny people are not, the media treats being underweight like it's a cure for all your problems and as such we have several negative stereotypes and presentations for many people, especially women. Sure, you may be skinny, but it's almost, if not completely impossible to have a waist like the Winx. Even if the actors were fat, that isn't bad. There's nothing wrong with fat people and there's a lot of people implying that there is even if it's not said outright. EDIT: Also, the Winx are all tall, are incredibly thin all over as well and have really long legs. This gives the impression that you should look like that and if not there's something wrong; there's very few characters that look noticeably different and things like this are still hurtful and affect the way children see things and act. Fat children grow up thinking their awful and deserve to be shamed when they really don't and other people think that it's okay to be mean to fat people.
