The Central Courtyard

First topic message reminder :

The Central Courtyard is a large open space at the center of the school where students can sit and spend their free time. A Well through which the tunnels connecting Alfea, Red Fountain and Cloud Tower to each other can be accessed. When the moonlight shines on it, the well opens a portal, which leads to another dimension with lots water, where the map of the Infinite Ocean can be seen. A Public Square where functions such as the beginning of year and graduation ceremonies are done. It also serves as a landing space for flying ships.

Roll only slightly nods to the elderly man, "You may understand the feeling of it, but not the reason behind why I belong no where." The young man closes his eyes for a moment, unsure what to say at the last comment. "Maybe a long time ago I was nice, but I'm not so sure about that now."

Clara looks at her phone, "Let me check my reminders app..." she clicked the app and realized she had to go to the art store to do her first shift. "Oh goodness!" With that, she skipped off to the store.

Matrim made himself slightly more comfortable to emanate he would patiently listen to anything Roll might have to say. "Then help me understand Roll. I understand you've grown up all your life thinking there was no such thing as magic, then suddenly you are torn away from everything familiar to you and thrown into the deep end without even knowing how to swim," Matrim stated emphatically. "From what I also understand, Bloom thinks it's your duty to become a specialist, but what do you think your duty is?"

"I really don't know what my duty is, or even the duty I have to my own biological family. I keep getting the entire it's your destiny to become....whatever I am. I don't want any part of that destiny, it's caused me enough trouble." Roll projects, pulling his hands out of his pockets. He was trying to be as enigmatic as possible, not wanting to say what he really was.

Matrim nodded occasionally during Roll's explanation and finally sighed. "Since Bloom is your cousin I presume your heritage is on Domino as well. You have to understand Bloom tries to recover the realm to it's former glory, for which she has her work cut out I'll tell you that. I think you have unwittingly become a victim of her will to accomplish her dream of rebuilding Domino," Matrim reasoned. "I guess if you talk to Bloom about this, you could find a way to fulfill your duty, or destiny or however you call it but still find your own place in the grand scheme of things. Happiness is as important as your duty, for an unhappy person won't be able to fulfill it. Think about it lad, I am sure everything will work out."

"Yes, that would be my heritage." Roll dully responds, looking rather uncomfortable at this point, "Yeah, I found that out the hard way...when Bloom dragged me along just because I mentioned I knew something about Daphne and the fact she told me to talk her about Domino." The young man goes quiet, shakes his head at the thought of talking Bloom about this, "I'm unsure if talking to her is worth the time, it might just lead to another argument." The red head frowns, not wanting to create yet another argument which would get him no where.

"The tangled webs we weave," Matrim replied to the fact that Roll seemingly got into arguments about it before. "Perhaps I could help you to talk to Bloom," Matrim offered but sounded somewhat tentative. "Perhaps with someone present to mediate the conversation won't result in another argument which makes feel both you and Bloom bad, since I imagine neither of you enjoys the tension it causes."

"I rather not drag you into this." Roll's hand slowly moves to the hilt of his sword and he closes his eyes, "I doubt she'll listen anyway, just like everyone in the magic dimension, sans you."

Matrim noticed the body language of Roll and got a little anxious when he reached for the hilt of his sword. it was more than clear this was an issue close to the heart of the young man. "I am willing to help you, it wouldn't be the first time I got in the middle of things and I'm willing to bear whichever consequences follow," he said. He still sounded a bit anxious, but that was mostly due to Roll laying his hand over the sword's hilt and Matrim himself rather not being skewered on that sword.

Roll shakes his head, slowly sliding his hand off the hilt of the sword, realizing his hand was suddenly o on it, "I rather not have you involved in my own issues. I hope you can understand that."
