The Central Courtyard

The Central Courtyard is a large open space at the center of the school where students can sit and spend their free time. A Well through which the tunnels connecting Alfea, Red Fountain and Cloud Tower to each other can be accessed. When the moonlight shines on it, the well opens a portal, which leads to another dimension with lots water, where the map of the Infinite Ocean can be seen. A Public Square where functions such as the beginning of year and graduation ceremonies are done. It also serves as a landing space for flying ships.

Artemis gave Martim a firm handshake. He felt only a small tingle in his hair from a faint static charge but no shock at all "well, we sure got scientists too! And they are really good ones too!" She smiled happly to finally meet someone who was interested in where she came from "oh believe me it is! The most of the time it's like this" she let go of his hand and pointed up at the faintly rainy sky "but far worse. But when the weather's cleared up and the sun rises... Oh wow... I allways try to get to the top parts and look out over the green of the forests. You can see for miles and miles around, even at the horizon you can see the metallic glinstering of the smaller cities based upon the original city of Verne"

Faragonda smiled seeing the girl was getting over her initial shock. Faragonda noticed how Matrim shot a glance at her and sighed deeply. She knew what needed to be said though she visibly didn't like it. her face emulated the grim face Matrim made. "Miss Artemis, there is something we must tell you," she said and paused for a moment to let Artemis brace herself for what was to come. "I'm afraid we can't get you back to Jule any time soon," she said.

Matrim nodded to confirm Faragonda's statement. "Establishing a portal to another realm takes quite a bit of time, we'll have to establish communication with your realm first," Matrim said. "Perhaps you could stay here for a while and discover this place? Maybe you could learn something here as well," Matrim added hoping it would put the girl at ease despite the bad news.

The moment Faragonda told her that she looked shocked and stepped back "n-no... Wait..." She stammered and stared big eyed at her "t-that's..." She slomped down and sat with her back to the wall of the well. The usual energeticness of her seemed to vanish "I must let everyone at home know I'm allright! They'll go look for me and... And..." A slight hint of panic starting to show

Faragonda laid a hand on Artemis' shoulder when she saw how devastating the impact was on the girl. "I'm sorry to bring you such dire news, as soon as I'm in my office I'll contact the best technicians I know to resolve this as quickly as possible. But for now all I can do is offer you a place to stay," she said kindly trying to soothe Artemis.

Matrim feeling somewhat more oppertunistic and remembering how enthusiastically the girl had spoken about her realm he added: "Perhaps you could tell me more where you come from, I'd love to hear more about Jule and Verne."

Matrim left Faragonda to deal with the empathetic part, not wanting to smother the girl since he figured it would only add to the discomfort.

Artemis nodded slowly as Faragonda felt how there was a complete lack of energy to seep into her hand "I... I want to help... I know the wavelengths and codations" she looked up at her "but... I... I really am.." Her voice kept trailing off as she stared up at the clouds that were opening up and reveal the blue sky. It seemed to bring a tear to her eyes as she stared up at it and slowly started to get up and sit on the wells wall

As Martim spoke to her she only nodded "I... I can try..." She spoke softly, but clearly the idea that she would be missing home and talking about it weren't the best combination.

"I wish I could help you more, but unfortunately I can't. I'm not sure if you could be of assistance in the process, it would be helpful of course to know what kind of technology is used at your realm. Perhaps you could pay a visit to the transportation hub in Magix, they'll be working on getting you back to June," Faragonda explained calmly. "As for your stay here, I'm sure the other students will help you have a great time here, would you like to study here as long as you're here anyways?" Faragonda offered hoping to put Artemis at ease.

"I know it's a lot to take in for you lass, but Miss Faragonda will do everything in her power to get this done as quickly as possible. She will also make sure your stay here is as pleasant as possible," Matrim reassured Artemis. He didn't really know what else he could add to soothe the girl since talking about her home seemed out of the question for the moment.
