The city of mermaid did get evacuated and of course the royals is the first ones out ( except for Ligea and Tressa). From then on, we never see any of the merfolk except their troops in the fight above the Omega portal. So it's save to assume what I said xD.

They should be the last to get out Andros selfish people unlike Tressa and Ligea. ;D

Agreed, really interesting! But where were Neptune, Nereus, Tritannus & co. when Valtor was attacking Andros and turning mermaids into monsters?
If you notice there were never any mermen in season 3. I think this is a new development.

Yeps, it must be a new idea. I however expect Rainbow and Nick to at least make up a story to explain why they didn't appear before so as to make the whole seem more consistent.
