The Central Courtyard

First topic message reminder :

The Central Courtyard is a large open space at the center of the school where students can sit and spend their free time. A Well through which the tunnels connecting Alfea, Red Fountain and Cloud Tower to each other can be accessed. When the moonlight shines on it, the well opens a portal, which leads to another dimension with lots water, where the map of the Infinite Ocean can be seen. A Public Square where functions such as the beginning of year and graduation ceremonies are done. It also serves as a landing space for flying ships.

Clara tapped her foot, "Well...what are you doing?"

"I was expecting more people out here due to exams." Roll remarks, walking through the gates of the school. He spies Clara and the others and gives them a half way, before taking note of the elderly man on the bench. He slowly approaches the elderly man, wondering who exactly he was and what he was writing. He seemed rather out of place at Alfea, but then again, so was here.

Matrim sat rather undisturbed until now never once breaking his cycle. His engraved quarterstaff lay balanced against the bench he was sitting on. He did however seem intrigued when he saw another young male roaming the courtyard. He lowered his reading glasses to the tip of his nose so he could watch over them.

The young man stops some seven to ten feet from the elderly man, glancing the older man over. "Are you a new teacher here at Alfea?" He asks kindly while placing his hands in his pockets. He certainly fit the part of a teacher.

"Oh no lad, I'm no teacher here," Matrim replied in a friendly fashion, "tough I will perhaps be a guest speaker during some history classes." He paused for a moment to lay the quill and notepad aside. With his right arm stretched out he introduced himself; "I'm Matrim Dermoor, pleasure to meet you."

Reaching out, Roll takes the elderly man's hand to shake it, "Roll Domona, I'm a Red Fountain student. It's nice to meet you as well sir." He wasn't sure what else to think of this fellow, but he seemed like he was very capable at whatever he did.

"If I might ask, why are you here at Alfea? I imagine you're missing classes right now," Matrim inquired curious why the young man was here. In anticipation of the reply he betrayed some of his motives when he reached for his notepad and quill.

"We had combat tests in the swamp today. After it was over, we're free to do what we wanted." The young man replies to the elder, not really watching his movements at all, "I came over here to use the simulator. It's not that unusual for a Specialist to visit over here." Roll turns around to look at the other students in the courtyard, exposing the hilt of his sword attached to his belt.
