Marriage: Will it happen

I honestly do not know whether the Winx will get married during the show. What do you think, are the WInx ready for marriage. (My computer`s on the fritz. Can`t do a question mark.)

I think a few of the couples in Winx are ready for marriage. For example: Bloom and Sky (Because in the 2nd movie they were getting ready for it) and Aisha and Nabu (If the power of Sirenix is going to bring him back).

I think so too. The only thing is, does Nick think they're ready? I dunno whether Nick will feel that them being married will age them. To Nick viewers, they barely know the Winx, to have them married would make them feel rushed, don't you think?

I don't think Nick is ready either. I mean they Changed the story line where Nabu ask Aisha to marry him. But the question I want to know is "Will Marriage Change the Winx?"

I don't believe Bloom and Sky are ready for marriage. Nor are Stella and Brandon. Yet they along with Aisha and Nabu are the only other couples with engagement rings. Musa and Riven aren't ready either, but they're not even engaged so at the moment it's not even an issue. Getting ready to be married is also not the same as being ready to be married.

My reasoning for saying this is that marriage is a huge commitment and you have to have a willingness to compromise and you need to trust the other person. Neither couple (although Stella and Brandon are my favourite canon pairing) have shown that they are capable of either of those things. Everyone was constantly jumping to conclusions in the fourth season and refusing to hear the other person out. You really need to do that when you're married. Both couples tended to hold grudges too. They never really gave me a vibe of having a healthy relationship let alone a serious one.

Being married is a lot more than just rings, a fancy dress and a day all about you. It's about making a comitment to someone to spend the rest of your life with that person barring abuse, death and adultry. Trust me on this because I'm on my 2nd marriage. Kids are also a big game changer. I have two of those as well.

Now Tecna/Timmy and Flora/Helia they have the makings of a good couple. Aisha and Nabu too- especially if Nabu comes out of his stasis.

I agree with Domino Kitty, Bloom & Sky and Stella & Brandon aren't completely ready for it. Marriage is a big commitment (even though I'm 14, I wouldn't get married unless if I was completely absolutely sure about it).

Musa & Riven are definitely ready. There's trust problems now, so imagine what it would be like later on.

But the rest of the couples would be fine, they don't have many problems and love each other (:

But, in the Nick version, I have noticed that they have really toned the relationships down. Like in season 4 all of the guys are saying "I really like you and you're really cool", but they haven't actually said "I love you". And they had that thing with the "Forever Girlfriend" which was kinda stupid :/ So I don't know about marriage in the Nick version.

I agree with Winxisawesome and Domino_kitty. Nick doesn't want the Winx to be tied down by the boys (at least that's how I see it) They're not promoting the Winx and the Specialists as serious couples. The only thing is, in the Italian version, the Winx and the Specialists are very serious. If they get married in the Italian version, the Rai one will obviously follow (By the way, does anyone know whether Rai will dub season 5+6?) which will leave the Nick one where exactly?

It seems to me that Nick is doing all the dubbing. I mean they have practically made the Winx theirs and with the exception of a few countries are broadcasting up to date. If Rai puts out a dub, I'm not sure people will watch it unless they are hardcore Rai fans.

RAI and Nick are working together on this so anything that has been done with the Nick Dub will have been approved by Straffi unlike when 4Kids took Winx Club and changed things without consulting Straffi thereby violating thier contract. This is what irritates me now people blaming Nick for changes that have been pre-approved. If you want to kvetch about changes in dialogue talk to Straffi because he approved it. Nick/Viacom is staying within their contract agreement as far as I can tell.

The RAI version is the Italian version- I have the first 2 seasons straight from Italy with the English dialogue (MondoHE not 01 Distribution) and they are direct translations (I speak some Spanish so I can understand som Italian) with the exception of the 2nd season opening song. RAI had control over the dubbing in all the other countries and most likely approved of the name change from Aisha to Layla in all of those countries. Therefore RAI is doing the dubbing along with Nick for seasons 5 and 6. I've said this a few times (and if you don't stop I will turn this car around and go right back home!)

IMO none of the couples have seemed too serious. They were in the 2nd season then just drifted away from that. Season 4 showed them with the most growth and the most realistic relationships since all couples argue (except for my husband and I LOL) and don't agree all the time. However it doesn't seem that the two main couples are growing from their fights or learning. There is no discussion. Flora is the only one in one episode who shows any gratitude and admits that they needed help from the Specialists. Bloom and Stella who will be or already are engaged to their SO are cold and rather bratty- the same can be said with Musa whose relationship with Riven is still debatable.

I'm really torn on who would be ready and who wouldn't. All the characters are in their early 20's- my first marriage was when I was 21 and I had my first daughter when I was 23. This isn't the case for everyone, but your wants and needs and interests when you're in your early adulthood change. Plus my ex was verbally, emotionally and mentally abusive towards me. Okay so you're not getting that from any of the characters' boyfriends, but my point is marriage is a big deal and it's not something to be rushed.

We also have to take Italian vs US culture into consideration. And for that I need to do research
