| First topic message reminder :
I'm always annoyed at how Jasmine is always touching my stuff and acting like a 3 year old all the time.
Like if I take the laptop away from her, she just fake faints on the ground and starts screaming her head off. Than somehow this tantrum becomes my fault. How is this my fault???? It ain't my fault if she can't handle the truth that its my turn to use the laptop.
Then there its stuff that she does which I call "circus acts". Standing on the very edge of the table on one foot, standing on the oven, picking up bugs from the ground and throwing them at me, trying to jump from the bed and onto the dressing table etc etc. As the older sis, its my job to make sure that she doesn't hurt her self WHICH SHE DID ONCE because she didn't listen to me. Had to go to the hospital after that accident and get stitches.
Then she taking my things. Shes opening up my backpacking, and using all my stuff without my permission. She used up half my lip gloss which I got from the other side of the world, she used up my special marshmallow hand sanitizer, she almost wrecked my laptop once, she on purposely destroyed the 1000 piece puzzle I was once doing for like 4 months, she broke 3 of my bracelets that I got as a present from friends, she took my catching fire field trip form and colored all over it (I was lucky that My teacher had extras) etc etc. Very very annoying. Once I actually put chains and locks all over my backpack so that she wouldn't be able to open it up.
Then there is stuff that where she just doesn't listen. She likes to annoy people on purpose.
Now that's all I have to say right now because my hands are getting tired just to type this so what do you guys think? Am I over reacting or not?

Also I understand what you are saying I work with 3 year old kids who don't understand the words LISTEN and OBEY. She reminds me of this one kids who DOES NOT listen what so ever. She's a pain and sometimes I want to lock half of them in a box...you should do that :)pretend you are playing Castle. *explodes in laughter* :lols:

| Moved per OP's request.
I'm on board with Amalthea (including on the make-up; personally, if girls are going to go outside wearing make up, they should be at least 16 given the nature of why make up exists). And younger sisters will always pester the older sibling; that's their job. Teaching them boundaries and that no means no is pretty much the older sibling's job to make them understand that while it's okay to be a pain every once in a while, purposely sabotaging your homework and stealing is not permitted.

| LOL, Lily, welcome to my life. My daughters are 9 and almost 3. I have to constantly wrangle them away from each other and last night the 9 year old took my cheek and brow highlighter and used it on her lips! I keep telling my 9 year old to put her stuff up where her sister can't reach it. You should do the same and hide things that you don't want her touching. In that case, you're as much to blame as she is.
Your sister needs to learn boundaries and how to ask permission to use things. 10 is a good age to learn- honestly your parents should have started sooner. You should talk to them about this.
As for make up. Lipgloss isn't really what I would consider make up- same with nail polish. My kids wear both and I see a lot of other kids in my 9 year old's elementary school doing it as well. I've also done my older daughter's make up for Halloween and when she has Christmas concerts and such. I believe Almathea and Kyra are over reacting on that account. You're welcome to your own opinion, but I wear make up to make myself feel better and so do my friends. Not to catch a guy (I caught mine with my ability to carry on an intelligent conversation- not by my looks anyway) Besides my husband hates nail polish- most guys don't understand why women wear make up in the first place and don't give two hoots about it.

this this this this Most people that wear makeup do it because they like it, not for attention. Maybe don't assume everyone wants a man. Anyways, it sounds like your sister purposely does this to annoy you, so telling her the consequences of destroying your stuff is unlikely to help. Talking to your parents (or whoever your legal guardians are) might be more effective if they're willing to listen. One thing to suggest is try not to be visibly annoyed or agitated; it's difficult, but if she does it to annoy you, it can help. And of course, if you go to your parents, you'll need to stay calm.

| Wow,um...well,I have 2 older sisters,2 younger brothers and I'm right in the middle. It's hard having 2 younger boys constantly on your back.Don't even get me started on my sisters. It's horrible! We tease each other, embarrass each other in public, ugh!Once me and my sister sabotaged our oldest sister's job application.
So,in my opinion,which I am perfectly entitled to,I don't think you're overreacting.

| Hi Lily ! From what I have read, I really dun think that ur overreacting.
I am so envy that u have a lil sis. I can't say that I can totally understand how you feel since I didn't have any younger siblings but I can understand how my older sibling felt. I really think that you should have patience with your lil sis by giving a better/nice response tone to her, have fun with her, joke around or tell her what should or not should be done, give some warning if she gonna keep repeat the same mistake but not too harsh on her. As some of them have mentioned too that your sis is still very young, dun treat her or expect her to be a matured person all of a sudden, she needs to be taught bit by bit. Most importantly, you should try to understand her feelings too, most of the time, the younger one just needs a person to spend some quality time with her, play with her, share with her, their brain are very curious to things that are still unknown to them, they are more energetic. So keep the things that suppose to be out-of-her sight, always smile to her but not pamper too much and knows how to forgive because both should know when to apologized to each other whenever things goes wrong! Peace!

That type of assumption is something I would like to see stopped ASAP! Just because a woman or girl dresses a certain way or wears make up doesn't mean that she is out to get a man. Sheesh, why do so many people still go by these old fashioned stereotypical views that women only want to look good for men? How are we going to all accept each other if we're always berating others for doing something?
My daughter's friend messes around with make up all the time. She does it as a form of artistic expression, not to get a boyfriend. She's 16 and has aspergers and is more concerned with her art and jewelry making.

| Sheesh Lily. I'm on your boat as well. Instead I have a brother. I just lock my jewellery in a box, lotions on a shelf, hair stuff and make up on the dresser. And I have a way of dealing with him. | |

My two year old knows how to open doors now so even shutting my door won't work. She gets into my jewelry box, takes out my coins and the brooches my grandma gave me before I moved! And unlike you guys there is no one I can talk to about it!
