Totally fed up with little sister

I'm always annoyed at how Jasmine is always touching my stuff and acting like a 3 year old all the time.

Like if I take the laptop away from her, she just fake faints on the ground and starts screaming her head off. Than somehow this tantrum becomes my fault. How is this my fault???? It ain't my fault if she can't handle the truth that its my turn to use the laptop.

Then there its stuff that she does which I call "circus acts". Standing on the very edge of the table on one foot, standing on the oven, picking up bugs from the ground and throwing them at me, trying to jump from the bed and onto the dressing table etc etc. As the older sis, its my job to make sure that she doesn't hurt her self WHICH SHE DID ONCE because she didn't listen to me. Had to go to the hospital after that accident and get stitches.

Then she taking my things. Shes opening up my backpacking, and using all my stuff without my permission. She used up half my lip gloss which I got from the other side of the world, she used up my special marshmallow hand sanitizer, she almost wrecked my laptop once, she on purposely destroyed the 1000 piece puzzle I was once doing for like 4 months, she broke 3 of my bracelets that I got as a present from friends, she took my catching fire field trip form and colored all over it (I was lucky that My teacher had extras) etc etc. Very very annoying. Once I actually put chains and locks all over my backpack so that she wouldn't be able to open it up.

Then there is stuff that where she just doesn't listen. She likes to annoy people on purpose.

Now that's all I have to say right now because my hands are getting tired just to type this so what do you guys think? Am I over reacting or not?

This sounds like a discipline problem, but you can't expect young children to have the poise of older ones. How old is this sister? This is very normal behavior (if unacceptable) for young children. Hitting and screaming at her when she misbehaves is NOT the answer. In fact it often makes the behavior worse. Is she old enough to hold a conversation? Then try sitting down and (calmly, you want to set a good example. I know it's hard but try) talking to her about why the things she's doing are wrong and\or hurtful.

Don't scream. Don't name call. Do not place blame. Simply explain why in a logical manner that she can understand why she shouldn't do those things. "Because I said so" is NOT a reason.

For example...she colored on your homework? Explain to her how much trouble you can get in and how it can affect your grades if you have to keep getting new papers. It could even lead to your parents being called and BOTH of you getting into severe trouble.

She's using your makeup? Tell her that yes, while you are supposed to share, some things are *just* for you. Gifts and items you have specifically bought for yourself for example. Just like there are some things that are going to be just for her. You also need to respect these boundaries if she ever obtains items like this. Respect is a two way street.

Also, once again, how old is this girl? She doesn't need makeup anyway. Heck, from the average age on this site YOU Probably don't need it either. Makeup is a tool for catching men, and on a young girl it often attracts the wrong sort of man.

Try living with MY sister! Everyone is always on her side because shes the precious baby! SHES SIX. She tries to steal my stuff and when she does something I always get blamed for it. I play with her for six hours straight and it's 10:30. She throws a tantrum. She never finishes her food but she always gets desert. One little slip up and she starts crying. MOST of the problem is one of my grandma's who spoils her to death. She always agrees with her too. And when she wants a snack and my grandma says no, my sister starts crying and ends up getting it after she already had like five snacks!

No I don't think you are overreacting because I feel the same way! And I would be ticked off if my sister used my makeup! Im with you on this one.
