| Well, the magic is based on positive emotions, so in theory there should be a limit to what they can do. Even within a certain branch of their element, they are limited as well. | |

| That's actually a good question - where is the power limit of fairy (or witch). Zero is totally right that if magic is connected to emotions on the individual level You can do only so much. But if the new transformations are the amplifiers of it, how much can they do and aid any fairy. Or are they (from certain level) just "adapters" adjusting fairy power to work coherently with different magic types (I suppose that's what happens in the later seasons, though doesn't seem to be exactly the case).
Also knowing that combined fairy magic is greater than the sum of the individual parts, how much could a group of fairies achieve in the end? Could they create a new planet, or dimension for example?
I wonder, cause I can't recall anything about the limits of the powers, but truth be told it's been a long time since I've watched the show. | |

Oh absolutely to everything You've said. That's why I find it interesting question. At the beginning it was remarked that enchantix is the highest (though it might have been considered such in terms of formal education), and that what Daphne did was remarkable and rare, but then we've got past that. Now, were the creators to name all new transforms after that as "add-on" and specializations, we would have clearer picture, but they did not (and I doubt they actually put to much consideration in the whole structure at any given point, don't think they've put much consideration to many elements of the plot, or continuity in general).
For time being it is still a nice thought experiment to consider how much could individual fairy do, to what level her power could be amplified by the transformation and how does that amplification work in the first place.
Clearly anything from season 1-3 seems reasonable and things to be expected of a student (within the winx world of course). On the other hand seeing any young fairy wilding powers and abilities like those of Aurora doesn't feel right, but still seems reasonable to assume seasoned master fairy could reach it, but it's not something that should be possible to level with just by "gaining transformation", but rather mature in time. Plus it feels natural to have weaker and stronger fairies within the same level depending on type of power, but also on skills (/magical inclination/ect).
So yeah, it is really interesting to wonder were can mere transformation get You and where You can get only by maturing, training and bettering Yourself (whether it is becoming more aware of who You are, more attune and in control of your emotions, or getting more attuned to your powers).
Personally I don't think it feels right for getting transformation that would allow You to, say, create new (inner?) dimension, but a major fairy, who dedicated decades to expand her powers an understanding would feel more plausible (and yes I assume that such thing is possible within the winx universe).
