Favourite Couple?

Since there is a Least Favourite Couple thread, why not have a favourite couple thread?

My favourite couple are Stella and Brandon. While Stella is my 2nd least favourite fairy (I still like her a lot though) I still really like her and Brandon. They're funny, committed and fun to watch. They're also still interesting, much more so than Bloom and Sky.

Plus, I find Brandon a really likeable guy.

As I've said already, my favorite couple is Aisha and Nex. I could list a bunch of reasons, but I won't this time. I'll just mention a few of them:

I love the symbolism of their names (Aisha = alive/life, Nex = death) and how their lives, personalities, and even relationship tie into it (as far as Rainbow's willing to go, anyway).
I appreciate that they're an interracial couple (visually) because they aren't many of them in this show. (Sorry, Aisha/Nabu and Aisha/Roy fans, but it's way too common — almost cliché — for the black main character to end up with a black love interest. Even if there aren't many other black characters around, the "perfect" black guy or girl will show up out of thin air. This is 2016. I'm glad Rainbow changed things up. Not saying I'm happy with how they did it, but I'm happy with how things are now.)
I think they're one of the few couples who benefit from being together. Nex thinks highly of himself, and Aisha brings him down a few pegs and brings out his sweet, sensitive side. In turn, he encourages and challenges her, which boosts her self-confidence and helps her grow as a person.

That's not all I like about them, but I don't wanna rant right now.

I find it odd that each person they have put Aisha with, their name means death or is associated with death. The name Nabu belongs a Mesopotamian god of death. Is rainbow trying to send a message?

I will say this, the most evolved and stable relationship in the show and I will agree with you prattler is Aisha and Nex.

I really don't have a favorite couple, but the closest i think right now is Timmy and Tecna even if they aren't doing much with them.

I didn't know that about Nabu. I've looked up his name before, and I didn't find that reference. I knew it was the name of a god, though.

Why does Rainbow keep doing that? Because it corresponds with her name. She's not the only Winx Rainbow has done this with.

Flora has to do flowers, as well as being the name of the Roman goddess of flowers and springtime. What do flowers need to grow? Sunlight. Helia is derived from Helios, the name of the Greek personification of the sun.

That makes total sense for Flora and Helia since they go hand in hand.

I just don't think the others are so clear cut to follow later pattern.

First of all...are you sure Nabu is the Mesopotamian god of death? Everything I found said he's the god of wisdom and writing. Maybe Rainbow hasn't kept the "death" trend going for her the whole time, after all.

If that's the case, the symbolism for Aisha now has to do with her experience with death. She lost someone she loved, and now she's not afraid of it and knows how to cope with it. That's what I meant by even her relationship with Nex relating to that concept. I'm not saying he literally represents death — I don't think Helia literally represents sunshine, either — but I wouldn't be surprised if that's what Rainbow had in mind when they chose that name for him. (Otherwise, you'd have to ask who would name their kid that.)

Also, Aisha and Nex are both described as fearless. They're daredevils, and they're not afraid to do dangerous things. Remember what she was doing when we first met her? Climbing a rock face with no gear and not enough magic to fly. Nex has that same extreme personality.

I think Rainbow put a lot of thought into this couple. It's not exactly obvious, but it's there. As for the other couples, I'm not as sure. I'm still trying to figure it out.

I'm rather sure. Just look up Babylonian and Mesopotamian stuff.

They do both have that same type of personality and they do fit each other rather well. Also what you meant by the concept really makes sense.

Also I checked up what Riven means, it means to Rend or split apart.

I'm personally glad Aisha and Nex are together and I am also glad that Rainbow have done that too :p.

I hope to see a bit more of them (and most the other couples) in season 8. It made me a bit sad that the boys weren't really in season 7 too much.

Favorite couple? Hmm.. For me its a Tie between Bloom and Sky, and Stella and Brandon. I like Bloom/Sky for the fact that they feel almost like a real couple.

I like Brandon and Stella due to it being a real odd couple. Here you have serious and down to earth Brandon, who is engaged(still..after how long) to a air headed Valley girl.. Who just so happens to be a princess. They are so different, but that is what makes them cute. OF course, out side of my least favorite, T/T I feel that Brandon and Stella have the most risk of breaking up in spectacular fashion. Outside of M/R that is.

I will have to rewatch the Aisha/Nex stuff. As my opinion of Nex is he is just arrogant and rude. So personally I may have to rewatch the season just to get a proper feel for him. I may be wrong about him.. Though it is nice to see another interracial couple in the show. Since Musa was made to look like a Asian, so her relationship to Riven was interracial as well. So good on Rainbow for having the guts to persue Interracial romance.

I don't really have one.... Since, im not invested in any of their love lives. The thing with couples, is that have to make both charecters interesting so you like the idea of them getting together. Half the time it feels like the only reason the specialists exists is so the winx have boyfriends. But if you have to twist my arm, i'd say brandon and stella are probibly the strongest couple since they act like a real couple

Bloom and sky annoy me since the only issue's they have as a couple are not about them and are abother others wanting to break them up or come between them

tecna and timmy annoy me cause they're bland

flora and helia don't even act like they're in a relationshop half the time.... Flora just seems to timid to even adress him about things and while i like flora allot, its kinda annoying when it comes to helia

I loved aisha and nabu.... But they died

Nex is ... Dunno, didn't watch season 7 so for all i know its an amazing couple
