| So it has been confirmed that the fourth movie will take place in 2017, according to Iginio Straffi. - Italian:
L’anno prossimo dovremo avere anche un altro film e nel 2017 ci sarà una serie spin-off: si chiamerà World of Winx, realizzata in co-produzione con Netflix, che vedrà delle Winx un po’ più adulte, diverse sia graficamente che come storia. Abbiamo voluto esplorare un nuovo racconto, con uncliffhanger alla fine, perciò la storia rimarrà in sospeso come nei serial per i più grandi. Un esperimento che abbiamo voluto fare in attesa di produrre l’8^ serie che è già in scrittura.
Quindi per le Winx nei prossimi anni ci sarà ancora tanto da vedere e da scoprire.

What innovations can we expect for the future?
Next year we will have another movie in 2017 and there will be a spin-off series: will be called World of Winx, made in co-production with Netflix, which will see the Winx a little 'more mature, different both graphically and as history. We wanted to explore a new narrative, with uncliffhanger the end, so the story will remain outstanding as in the series for the larger. An experiment that we wanted to do while waiting to produce the 8th series that is already in writing.
So we're expecting a new movie in 2017 and as we all know, World of Winx in 2016 on Netflix which is for more mature audience. AND an eighth season. | |

| I'm rather glad they're taking Winx to a much darker genre, I think it does indeed deserve a much deeper plot like its precedents. Hopefully a World of Winx will be much better and mature than the current series, and hopefully a World of Winx is just a working title, I think better names could be made. |

| I want to see if they're even capable of a more mature storyline; I feel their version of mature is going from preschool level viewing to kindergarten level viewing. | |

| I can't see them making a "mature" show after making a show for so long that is kinda...the opposite of mature. I hope by "mature" they mean more in-depth plots. I kinda hope that the spin-off is more like the comics, which had slightly more depth to it than the TV show (from what I've seen anyways). It will be interesting to see.
Not keen on a fourth movie though, it just seems completely unnecessary.
The sentence "An experiment that we wanted to do while waiting to produce the 8th series that is already in writing" kinda says that we won't be expecting Season 8 until like late 2016/early 2017 though?! Hopefully that gets pushed forward again... | |
