Royal Ballroom

First topic message reminder :

The grande hall where most royal events and balls take place, with balconies overlooking the main floor on the second story. A grand double staircase lined with balustrades is positioned at the entrance. One central crystal chandelier surrounded by four smaller ones adorns the high ceiling. A wall of floor-to-ceiling windows allows for a perfect view of the night sky.

"I.. guess." he responded, shrugging. "Ugh.. this is difficult.. maybe I should tell her.." he thought to himself. "Uh, C-C-Cadence?" he said, asking for attention.

"I uh, I really feel bad because I'm not comforting you much, and I guess I have stretched this too far but.." he paused, taking a deep breath. "I.. like guys. I'm into guys, not girls. I asked you to be my girlfriend because I knew you were interested in me and I just wanted...." he said and paused again, gulping as he looked at her. "I just wanted someone to push away rumors of my liking to guys.." he guiltily concluded.

Cadence could almost feel something crack inside her. She turned away from him and closed her eyes. "So...let me get this straight...you were never attracted to me and decided that you wanted to have this relationship only to keep those rumors away about yourself?" She asked in a low voice.

"Um... yes?" Calvin responded in a squeaky, almost innocent-like voice as he knew his lies and fables were all shattered now. It was worth it though, to him at least. He couldn't stand another second kissing her. However, he knew it was the right thing to do after giving his girlfriend fake dreams and hopes.

Cadence turned around and slapped Calvin across the face with tears welling in her eyes. "Who do you think you are to use me like that?! Who cares about the rumors at Alfea and what not! You see that there are some fairies who date each other! You're selfish and you would throw other people under the bus if it was meant to protect your secrets! And there is no way that I'm going to let you get away with using me as some beard! You better watch your back from now on!" She yanked the necklace off that Calvin gave her during their first date and tossed it at him before walking back inside, clearly raged by all this.

Calvin didn't respond and merely turned his head away when Cadence slapped him. He knew she wasn't wrong for saying what she said, and that he deserved much more painful and vulgar words fired towards him.

"Man, I wish I have a glass of water right now," he said, turning around to lean on the balcony; entering a state of thought.

Lyra was just walking to the balcony to get some fresh air when a furious girl with tears on her face rushed past her. Looking at the balcony, Lyra saw a boy with a sad expression. She wondered if she should ask what's wrong as she walked onto the balcony and stood with a little distance from the boy.
