Okay, for those of you who don't know, my mom is schiziophrenic. (well, Schizioaffective to be more specific.)
For the past several months, my mom has been preventing me from seeing my doctor appointments (I have Crohn's disease). The doctor's office became aware of this and called CPS on us to check in on how I'm doing. Well, long story short, if I don't get to my next doctor appointment (Which is on the 16th) they're gonna pretty much take me away and put me into foster care due to dropping out of medical care.
My mom, however, refuses to go to all doctor appointments. I don't have a father; but my uncle, who lives with us, says if she doesn't let me go, the only other option would be for him to take me to the appt there himself. But of course, that's illegal and my mom is my only legal guardian. So yeah, I'm in quite a pickle.
All I can think of to do is somehow persuade my mom to let me go to the doctor appointment. My mom is practically bipolar, and she's probably just going to break into a screaming rage and lock me in my room and block the door if I mention it. (It's happened before. Any time we try to get her to do something she doesn't wanna do, she locks me and herself in my bedroom and blocks the door with her body. I've had to fight tooth and nail to break my way out of my own room on multiple occasions because of her).
I seriously need some help. | |

| As much as John's idea sounds the like the only option, it's not. You need help. Help, not by your friends or uncle. But by adults. I'm not trying to offend you uncle, but he doesn't sound like he understands what he's dealing with. You need an adult, I would best advise you to speak to your school guidance counselor or principal. If you go to school in the United States, they are bound by the law to help you. Someone at your school might help you more than you think. But if things get worse and you feel like you are in danger (like being locked in your room against your will) you need to call your local police department.
You must put out a call for help from adults and show how mature and strong you are. Lexi, I'm not trying to sound like a Winx Club special. But you must believe in yourself. You have power and strength. Not a power like the Dragon Flame, or muscles, or wizardry. It's that strength you feel in your heart. The strength you feel when you know that something is wrong and should be made right. The strength you need to become the girl you are. You must let go, and call for help.
And even though your mother is dear to your heart, you must be strong and put her into the place she belongs to get the help she needs. Your mother is ill. And with that, her mental problem could lead her to not think the way that you and I think. If she gets the help she needs, you guys can be together for the long term.
There is no reason for you to be living in physical or mental pain. That's just not the way it should be. There are laws and resources to help kids like yourself. Please talk to someone at your school on Monday.
Now Lexi, all I can do now is pray for your safety. Good luck, and find help.
