| Proper ways to RP
There are several ways to RP on a forum setting, but these are the most acceptable and easiest to do since it helps others understand what is happening.
1) Chat box style: This is the style is mostly used on chats to RP with. It's just basically having the character chat and doing any other actions with an asterisks. Ex: Breanne: Hi guys! *waves at them* How are you doing? A basic style that is preferred to be used in chat boxes but accepted in forums.
2) Short hand style: This is similar to style one, but you don't use the characters name at all to ID them. Used on forums with beginners who have only one character. As with the above asterisks are used for actions. Ex: Hi guys! *waves at them* How are you doing? This style is preferred not to be used as it could get messy if you misuse it.
3) Full style: Full style uses quotes to denote talking and normal grammar. You can also add on descriptions of how characters feel. This is an advanced style to role playing and the most preferred on a forum. Ex: Breanne walks up to her friends and greets them "Hi Guys, how are you doing?" she asks with a smile. Can use both present and past tense.
Note: If you're using full style but not using the grammar or quotes to separate things, this makes it all sloppy and harder to read. Using two styles at once can also make it confusing.
