A little off topic, lol, but I agree. I do love Tara Strong and her work in voice acting. I'm dying to meet her one day at Comic Con; depending if I can ever go. (Crossing fingers for next year!)

Don't worry, you're not the only one. Most people who know that Mauritius exists live in countries from which tourists come to visit our islands and from which the ancestors of most our population came from, i.e. mainly African countries, China, France, India, and the UK.

It's because we're a very small country and we were a very poor country till the 80's. Now we're a country that's developing rapidly.

Mauritius was an uninhabited island where the dodo bird used to live ( you know the dodo bird, at least? Razz

) and it's in the colonial times that the whole of our population arrived, mainly from Africa, India, France and China, and we've successively been a Dutch, French and finally British colony before getting Independence in 1968 and becoming a Republic in 1992, being part of the British Commonwealth.

Mauritius it's hard not to know it my BFF is from there and visits yearly she shows me pictures that she took in Maritius and people there sometimes dress up in dodo bird costumes she says

Yeah, it's mostly for this that Mauritius is known. I hope more people learn come to know about it in the future. and for more reasons than only the dodo.

Yep I'm actually Chinese that lives in South Africa she gave me a CD with some Maritius songs I haven't really listened to them yet but she says there nice songs I might listen to them tommorow yeah my friend showed me a pic of there traditional dance where Maritious is I'm not exactly sure where Maritius is I think it's somewhere of the coast of Africa I think[i]
