| I have to admit, Jakks Pacific has done a wonderful job with the dolls in my opinion. We could have gotten worse. However, I've noticed a few things that have gotten on my nerves a little bit. I want to see if I'm the only one.
With Mattel dolls, each character seemed to be acknowledged. Not one (well, except Bloom of course) was really placed above another. However, with Jakks, it's as if Bloom, Flora, and Stella are getting the spotlight. When I was at Walmart a couple of weeks ago, the only dolls they had were believix, casual, some random sewing theme, and concert. The only characters that were left for each theme was, of course, the three mentioned before. A lot of people on tumblr have been talking about how it's rare to find the others nowadays. I don't get it. I wish it wasn't so. Like, am I making sense? How did it end up being like that?
I'm not sure if I want to be an actual collector of Winx dolls. If I do, I'm just now starting. I only have a casual Stella and Bloom, and a believix Bloom. I have other things to pay for (first year of college, so that's one thing) and other hobbies (anime, mlp, cosplay, etc etc) I have and it would be hard to be a collector of them. I at least want to own other characters besides those three, but it seems that it's going to be a challenge.
Funny story, though. When I walked into the doll aisle at Walmart, literally Monster High dolls are taking over that store in general. The Winx dolls were squeezed tightly in their own little section right next to the Monster High and oh my gosh. I'm not into Monster high, but there are a butt load of dolls in that franchise!!
But yeah, I'm getting anxious with Christmas coming up. Parents are going to probably grab those winx dolls in a heartbeat really soon and I'm broke trying to find a job. I want to visit Toys R Us and Target next time I shop for them, but it's hard for me personally since I need a job and college is kicking me in the butt lately. I've seen some INSANE Winx collections and it brings me back to when I had a good collection in middle school but I was stupid and gave the stuff away. It wasn't much, but it was a good start. There were mainly books and DVDs in the collection, with only two Mattel dolls that I didn't realize would become rare later on. | |
