| Subject: Goodbye FusionFall & Toontown Fri Aug 23, 2013 10:21 pm | |
| Few days ago, Toontown have been announced to be closed. Many many people got depressed, including me, even though I don't play it as often, it was and STILL my favorite game of all time. They decided to close it on September 26th or so with a note saying they're shutting down with it Pixie Hollow and Pirates of The Curry Bean Sea (Lol I know it's Pirates of The Caribbean, but I couldn't help myself.) to SOLELY be able to focus on Club Penguin, their cash cow. Club Penguin is aimed towards younger people and in my opinion is the most stupid, looking, design, annoying, pointless game in the world.
The weird thing is little kids like it, and I don't know why I used to like it too. Nothing is nice in this game. It is too stupid. There are no missions, no rewards, no nothing. And you have to pay for everything you do. WANT TO WALK? PAY UP! It's soooooo stupid of a game, yet it's a cash cow and their merchandise sell well. They don't realize the huge potential of the game (Toontown) and what they could do to make it an even bigger cash cow then Club Penguin.
There is in the Test Server of Toontown which is available to only subscribers, about 100+ different Toontasks (Toontasks are the quests we take) and are a lot more fun. The Test server even have double speed, more house designs, and much more features that never made it to the Online Server. There are also many hidden items in the phase files that can be seen if used some programs which can be released as updates to make the game more lively (It's not hacking, it's just looking at the very deep, stem files of the game).
Toontown stopped updating since about 2008, and ever since its just minor updates. The only recent update is the ability to skip the credits of the battles and head directly to your credits (View-able only by you), or even skip your battle credits. It was a nice update, yet they're focusing on the little kids who support Club Penguin because it makes more money. They know you will not stop playing Toontown nor stop paying for it even without updates, because it's such an awesome addicting game.
And if I were Disney, I'd do same thing due to the huge money income. Yet, I'm dazzled and feeling weird why the sudden mysterious of Disney not being strategic for the first time. This is so not like Disney. If they updated the game and made more events and stuff, the game will give them more money than Club Penguin does. Slowly, but surely it'll give more money, and I don't see why Disney rejecting such a very successful plan. This is so not like Disney. They will keep milking their cash cow (Club Penguin) to death.
The game Club Penguin is aimed to little kids who now, these days, play more and more online MMOs unlike us, were their age we weren't yet introduced into such things. Most of us at least. The more new kids come, the more money the pay. And they just dump the little kids who become as old as us and head towards even new kids. A never ending cycle and so on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now for FusionFall, it stopped updating at October 2011. It was first a Pay-to-Play game, yet it had so much more potential back then. It was an awesome game with lots of new events and updates every month or so. Cartoon Network, the creator of this game, was partnered with Grigon Entertainment which was the head master of the game. Cartoon Network was just a mask to the real company updating the game and coming with new ideas, Grigon Entertainment.
When Grigon went bankrupt, they solely gave the game back to Cartoon Network as if it was saying : "Here's your game. Do whatever you want with it". So basically, Grigon still got the money from the game and gave the game back to Cartoon Network, who have no real experience in making nice MMOs, made the game Free-to-Play and stopped updating it starting October 2011. Over the time, people got bored from it and FusionFall only got money from the advertisements they show before the game begins.
It has started to die less and less day by day until today they decided to close it after 6 days. They made every player level 36 (The maximum level) and with huge amounts of money. Even when you make a level 1 character, it'll automatically be level 36 even at the beginning at the Training Academy. They have about 5 months+ worth items hidden in the deep files of the game that can only be access to if hacked.
They can simply release these updates to make the game more lively, yet the only reason as my friend says that they're not doing it, is because they're becoming lazy to do it and thinks the flash game "FusionFall Heroes" which is only online but have very limited online support is enough to replace FusionFall. There are THOUSANDS of unreleased items, and I'm 100% accurate and NOT kidding when saying there are THOUSANDS of items and stuff that can be done.
They are focusing now mostly on Ben 10, Cartoon Network's cash cow. They even made Ben 10 Omniverse which is horrible and was horribly rushed and aimed towards new audience. They will even keep making many new seasons of Ben 10 until they die. They just don't realize what a great game with a HUGE potential they have. It was even voted 4th best online game in the world, and now it's closing after 6 days after almost 5 years of running. R.I.P. FusionFall. I will miss you and all the great people I met through it.

| Awww! Too bad! As far as I can remember, I think I played those games. I agree, Club Penguin is a little bit usless, I played it before, and after 10 minutes, I got bored. -_- | |

| Toontown was a surprise quite honestly. FusionFall?....Well..... CN had always planned to get rid of it, but they just needed time. So they slowly killed it before it was good enough for them to throw away. | |
