Feel sad... Nervous.

Grad for the Grade eights (13-14 yr olds) is coming up (Monday) I'm in a split class (Gr. 7 is 12-13) meaning I'm in the same class as some of these people.

With their grad coming up, I can't help but feel scared. That'll be me next year. This school is the only thing I've always known. Any tips on getting ready to say bye? I'm nervous for High School, and nervous to let go.

I will not lie; I have nothing. I was all too happy to escape the prison that was junior high.

The only thing I can offer you is the reassurance that high school will be fun, but those four years will be over like the snap of the fingers. Even now, I look back fondly and feel sad that I could no longer stay in the high school.

Keep your head high, focus in classes, and remind yourself that it is progression when you graduate from junior high/middle school (each school is different and call it different things).

Well, in Canada we don't have middle school. One school from kindergarten to grade 8, high school and you're out. I didn't go to preschool. Sure I'm excited to leave (I have my fair share of enemies at my school) but I'm also-well-nervous.

It is normal to be nervous, especially when you make a leap from Grade 8 to Grade 9. I cannot offer you advise on how to get rid of nervousness since that is not possible. Instead, I can only offer you ways to control your nervousness so that it does not become a bother (people can sometimes get sick when they get really nervous).

The best advise would be to take your mind off of the issue and focus on something else to occupy your time (next year). Or, exercise to tire yourself out from thinking about the issue. I am afraid that is all I can offer since everyone handles nervousness in their own way.

Oh honey high school is a great year and it always have been a great year even with it's ups and downs I've managed to enjoy my 9th and 10th grade and now i'm going to 11th! ^-^ Just be you and maybe not show a lot of you until you feel comfortable and made some friends and then you'll just settle in and fit in just right.
