The Runes (A Winx Club Love Story)

Hey guys! I just remembered I was planning on writing a book length story but never got around to continue it, so instead i'll post some of the story here! IDK when im gonna finish it, but soon I hope!

Chapter 1 "The Fated Meeting" Part 1 >_<

“Where am I?” asked the girl curiously, examining the area, with the dark fog surrounding her. She started off by just walking around, but noticing she was going nowhere, she ran instead.

After running for such a long deal of time, a light was shining from afar was revealed and the source of the light was coming from a door with a small opening. It was more like a cat door.

The girl began to grow smaller till she looked like she was just around six years old. Once she was by the door, she crawled inside the door only to find an attic full of books and different kinds of items. She slowly walked around and picked up some of the things glowing that were lying around.

First, she picked up a necklace with different runes on them. A while ago, she read a book that talk about Runic Amulets, used by Rune Wizards.

She placed it on her neck and went to the next item that was glowing at the attic. It was a beautiful golden coloured book with a rainbow moonstone placed below the title, and it was called ‘The Stellar Eclipse’. She tried to grab and touch it, but when she was about to place her small little fingers on it, it disappear in an instant!

The final item glowing on the room was another book, but this time it was a bit different. Unlike the book before, this book was named “Destino: The Rune of Souruita” and it had two runes placed on the front cover, the runes written on them were Hagalaz and Algiz.

She doesn’t know what it meant, but when she opened the book, a hideous creature appeared before her and escaped out of the book and into the room. She ran and screamed in terror towards the darkness of the atmosphere. She could hear her name being called Bloom...Bloom...Bloom...

“Bloom! Wake up dear!” yelled a lady who was about middle-aged. Bloom opened her eyes and saw her mother by the window. She ran to her at an incredible speed and gave her a big hug.

“I’ve brought you some gifts from the city! I know this will truly disappoint you, but I must leave once more. I have business to attend at the city. Will you be alright here alone dear?” she asked kindly.

Bloom gave a big sigh and said “I will be mother. I mean, it’s been happening regularly now so of course I am. I mean, I’m always alone aren’t I?” replied Bloom with a sound of disappointment in her gentle voice.

“Oh Bloom, you know I love you dear but I just have to do these businesses otherwise we won’t have anything to eat.” she replied. She looked at the clock with disappointment and started packing her things up.
“Once again honey, I am sorry. I must leave now, but I will return.” she said as she waves goodbye to her. She slowly went down using a rope and once she was all the way down, she grabbed the rope and placed it inside her bag.

Bloom grabbed a book and sat on a corner. Tears were flowing down her hazel eyes and her fair white skin was becoming paler. “Rapunzel” she said to herself. She opened the book and began reading it. “Rapunzel was a girl who lives in a tower with her mother. She had hair so long that her mother uses them to get down from the tower or get back up, so long as someone says ‘Rapunzel, let down your hair’ and she immediately drops it.” she read on. “I wish I had hair as long as Rapunzel. Then I could escape from this prison.” she said to herself quietly.

She returned the book back to the shelf, grabbed a hidden map underneath her bed and placed it on the table. She also grabbed a book called “Atlas” and opened it on the page where the six continents of Earth are.

“Hmm, so I live in Engcantadio right? Right now, I am somewhere here at the top left hand side of the map. The place nearest to the Hidden Forest is Enkanto City and if I follow the directions there I should be able to travel all the way to the Continent of Istoria if I am able to rent a Pegasus.” she planned on. It was her plan from the beginning, to escape from this cage and live freely in the outside world.

She went to the bookshelf and took another book called ‘Runes of Times’. She tried recalling the runes she has seen on her dreams; unfortunately she only remembered the rune of Hagalaz. She flipped through the book and constantly searched for the rune she saw and alas! She has found it!

“Let’s see, the rune of Hagalaz. According to this book, the rune of Hagalaz is the rune of weather. Whoever uses this rune has control over weather. The owner may turn the beauty of the summer into a cold and lonely winter; they may turn the rainy days into sunny days. According to the legends, Hagalaz; the creator of the rune has used his life to harness the power of the weather. But because his mortal body wasn’t enough to control the weather, he turned into the rune of weather. Hagalaz may be used for good deeds or evil. Hagalaz is also known as the rune of disruption. It used to belong to the Ruins of Souruita but later on was taken by a mysterious person. No one knows where the rune is, but the rune is hidden somewhere in the world.” she continuously read on.

“Hmm...Well if that’s true then I wonder where it is?” she asked herself whilst walking around in a circle.

Chapter 1 - The Fated Meeting Part 2

Meanwhile, outside the Hidden Forest was someone running with such great speed, a young man who has been struggling whilst holding what appears to be a Runic Amulet.
Its pure silver quality lets it stand out from all the other dull colours of the Hidden Forest. The amulet’s shape was circular and a star in the middle. Inside the pentagon part of the star was the rune. On the pointed sides of the star were other runes with different signs.

“Hey! Come back here!” yelled a loud and scary voice. It was a grown man who had a knife on his left hand and a rope on the other. He kept on chasing the young man.

As the young man constantly ran for his life, he accidentally slipped on a moss, lost his consciousness and began tumbling and rolling towards the Hidden Forest.

“Where is that damn punk? What the hell! Outran by a scrawny boy! This stinks! Where the hell is he!” he cursed as he tried looking for the young man.

In the mean time, the young man had finally stopped falling but was somehow hit in the head with a rock. The left hand side of his forehead was bleeding. He got up, removed his shirt and tied it around his wound. He walked around, hopefully to find some help.

He noticed the amulet on his hand and put it on his neck. “Gee, it’s all thanks to this damn amulet I got this wound. I hope this works!” he said as he looks at the amulet and began to chant out some spells.

“Algiz, the Rune of Life. Lend me your power and give me the power of a thousand healers! This is my will so mote it be!” he chanted. His body began glowing, but in an instant it was gone.

The amulet started glowing and floating towards somewhere, something or someone. He followed the necklace and after such a long journey, they finally arrived to their destination. It was a tower, and it was so high and long a strong rope will be needed to climb it up. The amulet then lost its glow and dropped in his hands.

‘Hmm, I wonder if someone is living there...’ he thought to himself.

‘I know! I will shout loud and ask to let down their hair! Maybe it’s Rapunzel! I’m probably gonna be a King then!’ he thought to himself. He started to warm up is voice and shouted “Rapunzel! Let down your hair!”

At the moment, Bloom was looking at her plans when she heard this. She immediately ran to the window and looked at who was there. She saw that it was a man, so to escape from the tower she jumped out of the window. Apparently stupidity was inside her head because of the desperation she had for the escape plan.

Meanwhile, the young man saw Bloom jumping out of the window and shouted “Oh God! Young lady I’ll catch you!”

He held his hand out, and to his luck he was able to catch her safely in his arms. Her face was being covered by her magnificent brown hair, but when she placed them away and smiled at him, her face was shown and it was as white as snow, her cheeks were as red as roses and her lips were as shiny as gold. She gave him a warm smile and said “Thanks so much for catching me!”

He severely nodded his head and asked “What’s your name?” with his cheeks so pink.

“Ahahhaahah! You’re too cute! Can you let me down now?” she cheerfully asked.

“Uh, sure. Here you go!” he replied as he gently puts her down. She stood up straight and started stretching.

“So, what’s your name?” asked Bloom. She stared at him suspiciously to make a joke but it looked like he was tired.

“How about we sit down for a minute? Come on, follow me!” she said as she pulls him through some bushes and vines. When the young man looked at the area, his blue misty eyes shined like a star. The view was so magnificent that it had touched him.

“This place, this aerial view, how beautiful!” he added. He then sat down by the grass and Bloom followed him.

“So, who are you?” she asked once again.

He gave a small grin and finally answered her. “My name is John Sky Frelser. I am 16 years old and I live in Enkanto City. I’m a Runist. How about you?” he asked.

“Oh! Well, my name is Bloom Lumen Tenebra but you may call me Bloom. I’m 16 years old as well and as you can see, I live here in Hidden forest over that tower.” she replied.

“You mean you’ve been stuck there all your life?” he asked, surprised. She nodded her head with sadness and told him about her life’s story.

“The truth is I don’t know much about my past. When I was just a kid, what happened was I woke up on that tower and a woman told me she was my mother. Every time I asked her about my past, she told me its best I’ve forgotten about it so it could make my life easier. Whenever I ask her if I could come out of the tower, she would yell at me and lock me inside a room full of nothing but books. So, during those times I grabbed some books and learned them. Though, after such a long time inside that tower I’ve completed almost all of them. When she goes to the city, I sometimes escape with my long brown hair and it was kind of like Rapunzel’s hair. Unfortunately, she caught me one day going out on my own and as punishment; she locked me inside that miserable room and cut my hair till shoulder length. I was wishing I was the girl in the story of Rapunzel, but it turns out I’m not. After all, Rapunzel had magical abilities with her hair whilst I have none. Oh! Sorry to tell you all about this miserable life of mine! I’m just beginning to bring you down! I’m sorry!” she finished as she gives a cheerful smile to Sky who looked at her pitifully.
“I’m sorry to hear that Bloom. Would you like to come with me and escape this place?” he offered. Her eyes grew big and happiness was imprinted upon her face. She gave a nod as an answer and immediately ran to the tower when she was stopped by what has seen. Sky ran after her and when he saw it as well, he hid behind the bushes where Bloom was.

“She’s here!’ whispered Bloom.

Chapter 1 The Fated Meeting Part 3


“Let’s go then! We have to leave here before she finds out you’re gone!” said Sky quietly. They both sneaked off towards the exit of Hidden Forest when the middle-aged woman who was dangling on the rope looked on their direction.

Both their eyes opened wide and both ran as fast as they could whilst the woman ran after them. Bloom’s mother then started to chant something and suddenly, behind them, was a horse where Bloom’s mother was riding on. She kept on laughing at an evil way and yelled “You’ll never escape here Bloom! Neither will you young man! I will lock you up forever Bloom whilst you young man, I will hang! Muahahahaha!” she laughed menacingly.

Both were beginning to grow tired and just when they were about to give up, the amulet that Sky was holding began to sparkle and floated towards Bloom. It then placed itself gently around Bloom’s neck and Bloom stopped running and faced her mother.

Her eyes were blank and it was as if she was under control for her body was moving as gentle as could be. She stared blankly at the woman who was about to charge her when she began to chant a spell.

“Berkano, Rune of Earth. Lend me your powers to take control over Gaia’s body! Whether it’s the land or the nature, this is my will so mote it be!” she chanted. Pieces of leaves began circling around her and the Earth started to crumble. Rocks began floating and tree vines began to form around Bloom. She constantly stared at the woman whom she calls mother and yelled “Gaia, as your current user I demand you to attack that witch!” she yelled. The rocks, vines and leaves floating around her suddenly took charge towards the woman and attacked her along with her horse.

She fell down on the ground and her horse began to disappear into tiny dusts of sand. She screamed in agony and angrily yelled at the two who were watching her in the ground suffer. She then started to disappear into tiny dusts of sand as well and completely vanish.

Bloom, who looked as if she was in a trance, fell on her knees with tears flowing from her brown hazel eyes.

Sky tapped her on the shoulder and said “I’m sorry. But, if we don’t leave soon the Hidden Forest will begin to collapse since the power of Gaia here has been weakened.”

She gave a glum nod and stood up. She proceeded to walk towards the exit, but then ran back to the tower. “I’ll just go get something!” she yelled as she ran back to the tower. When she came back, she had a bag with her and a small book named “Runes of Time”. She looked one last time at the tower, turned around and smiled.

“Well, let’s go then!” she cheerfully said as she ran towards him and off they go to the exit of Hidden Forest. Once they went out, they heard rocks crumbling and crashing.

When Bloom was about to turn around, Sky said “Don’t.” Bloom looked at the ground sadly and kneeled on her knees once again and began crying her eyes out.

“Mo...Mother......I’m so sorry that I was the one who killed you....I didn’t....*wheeze* mean to....I hope you can forgive me...” she slowly said as she kept on crying her eyes out. Sky looked at her sadly, picked her up from the ground and said “Don’t worry Bloom. I will always be here with you, no matter where you go. Remember that”

She nodded sadly and began to walk away from the collapsed forest.

P.S Guys, I'm not double posting, okay maybe I am, but putting them together will make it long and boring!

Chapter 1 - The Fated Meeting Part 4

After walking to Enkanto City for such a long time, the two decided they needed to take a rest and call it a day. So, they stopped by a restaurant to get some grub.

“I’m so hungry! I sure am glad I saved some money with me!” said Sky. He looked around impatiently when he noticed Bloom feeling down. She just stared by the window looking blank-eyed.

‘I wonder how I can cheer her up?’ he thought to himself. Then, he thought to himself hard and finally had an idea!

“Bloom! Cheer up! Look what I found!” he said as he begins to open his hand with something hidden inside of it.

“Look! It’s a Magic pet!” he said cheerfully. Bloom gave him a glance and looked back at the window.

“Come on little one, go to Bloom and cheer her up!” he said gently as the little cat grew a pair of pink wings and flew over to Bloom. The cat gently sat next to her and started to rub itself to her. Bloom looked at the cat and smiled. She then picked it up and began rubbing its head.

“Aren’t you cute? Thanks so much Sky! I’m sorry for being so down. I just feel terrible for destroying my own mother. I feel bad about it.” she continued as she constantly pats the cat.

Finally, their meals came and they both ate till their heart’s content. After eating a lot of food, both were full and began to find the place they could stay in for the night.

“Look! The Charming Inn!” Bloom said as she ran inside. The place was beautiful and everything seemed so magical. There were magical elevators, and the escalators seemed to be moving with magic consumed from the user. Whenever there is no one on the escalator, it stops. The lobby was fabulous for everything you’ll see there were expensive furniture’s and lots of rich people.

“Welcome to the Charming Inn! How may we help you?” one of the hostesses kindly asked. They asked for a room to rent, unfortunately due to the fact that the inn was very expensive both were only able to rent one room.

As they headed to the room, they discovered that it only had one bed and a couch!

“I’ll sleep on the couch and you sleep on the bed.” said Bloom. But then Sky argued with her and told her to sleep on the bed while he sleeps in the couch. After a long fight, both fought hard but the winner of the argument was Bloom.

Before they went to sleep, Sky sat by the couch and opened Bloom’s back. It was full of different kinds of things like a blanket, a book, some clothes and more. He looked at Bloom who was lying down the bed with the cat and asked “Hey Bloom! What’s your plan then?”

Bloom looked at him carefully and replied “To help you! You know, with something...”

“Umm, alright then? Well, if you are going to help me then we should get some sleep for now and rest up because tomorrow will be a tough day!” said Sky, tired. He jumped on to the bed and closed his eyes.

Meanwhile, Bloom grabbed her blanket that she received when she was 8 when her mother got back from the city, and placed it around her. She turned around and secretly cried whilst Sky slept peacefully. He didn’t snore one bit, but he was moving a lot.

Finally, Bloom drifted off to sleep and began to have her dreams.

“You wish to help your friend but not know the way? How hilarious! You must be joking! You should give up immediately!” yelled a voice that was as freaky and terrifying. Bloom slowly walked back when another voice came.

“Bloom, don’t mind him. I would like to help you with your journey. But first, you must know the truth. I would like you to go and visit the Oracle of Truth and ask her the truth about your life, who you are and where you come from. After this, he shall give you the quest you and your friend must do in order to complete both of your goals. I shall see you soon Bloom and you may count on it.” said the voice as it began to fade away.

Bloom opened her eyes and found herself on the couch having a sore back. She stood up and moved to the bed where Sky was sleeping comfortably. She was about to place a pillow in the middle of them when she felt Sky giving her a big hug. He snuggled her like a child with its teddy bear and didn’t let go. Bloom tried to push herself out of it but wasn’t able to.

For some reason, it felt good for Bloom. Sky was warm and soft; it was as if she felt this hug before, but not from her mother, but from someone else. She snuggled next to him comfortably and began to sleep once more.

The Next Morning.....

“Huh? Oh, it’s morning.” mumbled Sky as he looks around his surroundings. He was in the Charming Inn, with Bloom on his arms sleeping peacefully.

‘Lu...Bloom? Darn, what should I do? She’s sleeping peacefully on my arms and I can’t break it. She’s still upset about her Mum. Sigh, I guess I should just let her sleep.’ he thought to himself.

Bloom mumbled a few things while she was asleep. “Who is the...Oracle.....Truth.....Must know.....Who...” she mumbled while snuggling into his arms and finally, she woke up.

She first looked as if she was still sleeping, but when she came around and noticed herself lying on Sky’ arms, she immediately pulls herself away and blushes.

“I, I’m sorry! I, my back was aching last night and it seems like I moved here. I really am embarrassed.” she apologized quietly.

“No big Bloom. I don’t mind at all! In fact, if you enjoyed that, then you could lie on my arms as long as you want and any time you want.” he said cheerfully, while blushing.

Guys, once again, sorry for quadriple posting, but I cant put them together because they will get boring!

Chapter 1 - The Fated Meeting Last Part

When he said this, Bloom became even more red than usual. “Quit joking will you! My back was just hurting, that’s all! Now can you please tell me what your plan is?” she hastily asked him.

”First, I’m starving! Let’s go eat!” Sky said as he grabs his wallet and grabs Bloom along with him.

After getting enough food from the buffet, they both sat down by a table and Sky began explaining his plan.

“Well, first of all. My target is to go to the Ruins of Souruita and take the rune of Algiz to restore the life in my village. See, years ago when I was just a young boy, my city was attacked by some creature they called Soul Eater. I don’t know why, but whenever I ask someone about Soul Eater, they would just tell me it’s a legend and that I was just imagining it. Mm, this is good! Anyways, all I want to do is to restore my homeland and see my family once more. I was the youngest in my family, so they sacrificed their lives just to save me. Then one day, I found myself under a tree. I saw my land but it seemed like it was just ruins. Everything happened fast and what my goal is to become an Amulet Mage, like you. So will you please help me?” he pleadingly asked while stuffing his face with a delicious chicken.

“Well, a woman in my dreams told me that if we want to start our quest and complete it, then we must go to the Oracle of the Truth.” Bloom replied. While Sky stuffs his face with food, she picks up the necklace around her neck and looked at it carefully.
“Algiz, the rune of Life.” she said as she stares at the amulet.

Sky was stopped from eating and looked at her. “Yeah, how did you know I was looking for that?” he asked curiously.

“I, I don’t know. I feel like this thing is telling me everything I need to know about the most important runes. Sky, hurry up. We have to go see the Oracle of Truth.” said Bloom, seriously.

Her face was full of determination and she seemed like she was in a hurry. After finishing all the food, they immediately checked out of the Inn and headed their way to the Oracle.

“Good idea Bloom. But one question, where is the Oracle?”Sky asked.

“Don’t worry; the amulet will lead us to the Oracle. I don’t know why, but whenever I wear this amulet I feel like my power is boosted. I guess I really am an Amulet Mage.” she said as she takes out the amulet to follow the path.

After a long walk, the amulet lost its shine and it lead them by the sea side of Enkanto City. They both sat down for a moment, until they noticed a man wearing a hood and a black gown sitting by a rock near them.

They approached him, only to find him staring at them already. He began to speak in a croaky old voice “Bloom and Sky right? I’ve been expecting the both of you. Sit by the rocks and I shall reveal the truth for you.” he said as the two sat by the rocks beside him.

“I cannot tell you everything you want to know, for I have limitations. You must find them out all by yourselves.

“Young Bloom, you right now are devastated about the death of your step mother.” he continued. Bloom’s eyes grew at shock, when she heard him calling her mother ‘stepmother’. “Yes my young Bloom, your stepmother. As you know, you’ve been trapped in that tower for a long time now. I will not tell you how long, but to find the real truth, you must go and visit the other Oracles in Engcantadio. Each will present you with a Gift. Everyone has their choices, and the first gift you must choose from is Luxis, the Gift of Light or Tenebris, the Gift of Darkness. Choose wisely young one.” he said as he opens the palms of both his hands showing two orbs that contrasts one another.

Without any hesitation, Bloom picked the Gift of Light, Luxis. “Are you sure young one?” asked the Oracle. Bloom nodded with a big smile on her face and took the white orb.

The orb began to float by itself and shine brightly in front of them. The white light surrounded Bloom and in a flash of time, Bloom grew a pair of magnificent white butterfly wings.

“This is just the first Gift. This Gift will not be useful for you right now, but this gift is serious. I advice you not to use it if not necessary for it may drain your powers in a matter of short time.” warned the Oracle. After another flash of light, Bloom was back into her civilian outfit.

“As for you young man, I would like you to have this. It will surely become useful later.” he said as he handed an amulet to Sky.

“Do not wear it nor use it, for when the time comes, you will know how to use it and when to use it.” he continued.
“Uh, okay then?” he curiously replied.

“I should tell you this now, the truth of your being Bloom.” he quietly began.

“You are merely human, you are not even a pure human.” he continued.

“Wait...What?” she asked curiously.

“You are only a half-human. You were originally born as human, but heed my words; when the time comes you shall revert back to your true form. I shall not tell you what it is but what I should tell you is that somewhere out there, the world where you truly belong is lost. It is not destroyed, it is lost. You must search for my brother, the Oracle of Time, Tempus. He knows the past, present and the future. He may give you accurate predictions unlike other Oracles who are only able to see just enough, he can see everything there is. Finding him shall be a tough journey, so what I suggest is that you must first begin with this quest of yours.” he explained as Bloom looked intriguingly at him.

“Well, it’s a good thing we just happen to meet! Luck I guess?” I exclaimed happily.

“This meeting is not an accident. Neither luck nor does chance have nothing to do with it. This is a fated meeting. You two must overcome obstacles and fight along side one another. I promise you this; the stars will be watching the both of you intently and giving you all the support they could provide till this journey is at an end. Remember this; fate is the answer to everything. There is no such thing as luck or chance, only fate. Believe in yourself, and you shall release the strongest magic of all. I believe it is time for us to depart from one another. I shall see you again, Bloom. As for you Sky, I apologize. I am truly sorry and I hope you forgive Me.” he said as he began to vanish into thin air.

“No! Wait! I’ve got something to ask you! Wait!” yelled Bloom. Unfortunately as soon as the Sun came down, traces of the Oracle was long gone and he disappeared right in front of their eyes.

Bloom looked on the ground sadly, and then unto the skies where we could see a star shining bright up high, as if telling us not to worry. “Remember, he told us that the stars will be watching us. I guess he was right. You’ll see him again, I promise.” Sky said as they sat by the rock where the Oracle used to sit on.
