Concerns about Username Colors

While I am all for having our forum have color, especially in our names, I wanted to get this question thrown out to everyone. To be completely honest, there's a plethora of many different colors on our forum. While it is fun to have our possible favorite color painted over your user name, there could be some issues. Some that I would consider are; what's significant about these colors on people? Are they entitled to something? Yes, some are entitlted to the responsibilities they are assigned to. But personally, when changing the color on your name can be doable by free will, it can feel overwhelming or atrocious.

Lemme break down what colors we have activated on our forum (you can see all of them at the bottom);
Rainbow (Administrator; closed group; very essential)
Orange (Moderators; closed group; essential)
Yellow (Super Moderators; closed group; essential)
Green (Stream Moderators; closed group; essential)
Blue (Specialists; Member group)
Light Blue (Season 5 Moderators; closed group)
Purple (Witches; Member group)
Pink (Fairies; Member group)
Red (Wizards; Member group)
Dark Purple (default for all members with no group defined)

Count 'em, 10 colors.

Now don't get me wrong guys; it is fine and dandy to have a diverse amount of color on our forum. However, when you get down to it, you may find yourself asking... is it a little too much? I wanna hear y'all's opinion on the matter. Should we decrease the amount of color names we have? Don't be afraid to think otherwise; if it's a problem, chances are, it can be a problem.

Personally, I would like to keep things simple, yet, enjoyable (and fair) to everybody. I'm also not a huge fan of the default color for members who are not destined to a group (Dark Purple), because it blends with almost every other Link or Topic title that has the same color. No offense to the Red color named people, but Red is an immensely powerful color. It could represent anything; most commonly as an Administrator. That's where I believe people can get confused, especially when they're new to the forum. However, I do like the fact that you can choose a color name to define yourself as a Fairy, Witch or Specialist (referring to the actual show we are dedicated to), and now a Wizard.

Lastly, I would just like to point out that this is simply my opinion and concern with the forum. You can agree or disagree with it; I am happy to hear your insight.

im not really following your point about all the other things you said so just gonna respond to that comment^
i agree it can be confusing because you are right, on a lot of forums the admins are red lol Razz

anyhow, by saying that, id think it would be a good idea and nice addition to the forum features itself if jae does add +1 rank image for those that are moderator
incl himself, as admin

that way when people post they can see right away who is moderator, admin etc

if you not sure what i mean, im just talking about the another rank image, a 2nd one
above or underneath the post count rank images
one that says ''moderator'' ''admin'' etc

And by adding the 1 image ranks to mods/admins etc. Then we won't have trouble figuring out who is admin/mod and who's not and changing name colors would be easy and no one would get confused

I personally think all members should have the same coloured usernames, It would make it much more clearer who is a member, moderator or an admin.

Anyway, I think the S5 Mods need to change their color. It's the same as admins. O_O

Since on my comp, the Admins are shown with the aqua, and so are the S5 Mods.

Don't worry about that double post, I'll handle it.

On the subject of having a rank shown as "Moderator"/"Admin", I actually had this idea in mind and shared it with Jae. I thought it could be a neat way to add more characters to the ranking system.

Also, while the Admins do appear aqua blue in the Key, their actual color is Rainbow. It may be confusing when looking at the bottom of the forum though.

Yeah. With having different ranks for mods//supermods and such, you could us characters like the Specialists or people like Mirta. Minor characters who are still fairies.
